Secret Lairs Idea Generation

I have come up with some scenarios as to why my Martian Alchemist is in his secret lair in the first place but I am having a hard time deciding which is best to use or perhaps use a mixture. Feedback would be greatly appreciated and any new suggestions and ideas are very welcome :)

  1. I like all the ideas, though the one with hiding from other alchemists seems to be the best one.
Maybe try mixing them even more, like - he's hiding, because he's working on something valuable for his race but other alchemist from other planets want the thing too and that's why they are after him.
Or he's just having his secret lair because he doesn't want anyone to know what he's working on.
Anyway, interesting stuff. I am waiting for thumbnails :)

  2. I think the idea of a rogue martian alchemist is strong, but we still need to identify what he is trying to transform and why. I suggest, to help you with this final piece of the puzzle, you look at Mars and all the ideas that have gathered around the planet:

It maybe that your character us trying to save Mars via his science and transformation - but save Mars from what? There's all this stuff about Mars once having water, so maybe your Alchemist is somehow responsible for the 'death' of life of on Mars? Maybe his experiments were the cause of some global disaster?

  3. This sounds really good Alex! if you outline why he needs to save his race that could help, because if there was, for example a war, then his lair could be beaten up and crumbling. And if you say why he's hiding you could develop the story more.
