Using Photoshop, I blacked out the objects I was given and started combining them together to create silhouettes for life-forms, machines and structures. This method worked well and helped me to see the objects from a much different perspective.

Life-forms Development
After much deliberation I decided to choose number 3 out of the life-forms category for further development as I felt it had the most potential for a new and exciting concept.

First development page, as I felt this concept had an insect like structure to it I decided to look insect features such as legs, eyes and wings.

Small parts such as how the insect would eat and fly.

Summer Project - Initial Ideas
These are my first ideas for concepts where I have incorporated the objects given to me in any way I can for each category. Mainly just rough sketches but I will be choosing one from each category to develop further. I used the structural shapes, the small details, duplication and sometimes the entirety of the objects to produce these concepts.
I decided to stick to traditional pencil sketches because I can have lots of freedom to sketch down anything that comes to my head from the objects.

Summer Project
Before beginning the BA Hons CG Arts and Animation course at UCA Rochester, I have been asked to complete a summer project which focuses on conceptual and developmental work. I am challenged to produce 101 concept drawings using objects that have been presented to me on two inspiration sheets below. I must work in three different categories; 'structures', 'life forms' and 'machines'.

This project will challenge me to be creative and innovative with my ideas and developments to produce three final new and exciting concepts that I am satisfied with (one for each category).
